Liberty Counsel: Christmas back in Oregon school

by D. Bennett

The Liberty Counsel writes that an Ashland, Ore. elementary school principal has reconsidered her decision to ban a Christmas tree from her school, and will now allow the tree.

“The reason I removed the tree was to create a greater sense of inclusion in our school,” Principal Zundel said. “That decision had exactly the opposite effect. As a leader, I have an ongoing responsibility to reflect on the results of my actions, consider diverse feedback and occasionally, change course.”

“We applaud Principal Zundel for making the right decision to return Christmas to Bellview Elementary School,” the Counsel writes. “Leaders should do the right thing even if it means backing off wrong decisions to make them right.”

TAEP reported on the principal’s original decision here.
