NAE’s policy goals include peace in Sudan, legislation on funding for faith-based orgs

by M. Pulliam

The National Association of Evangelicals met with President Obama to discuss lasting peacekeeping strategies in Sudan.

The NAE hosts the Evangelical Leaders Forum where important issues will be tackled.

NAE describes the importance of protecting Bush-era policies that allow faith-based charities to discriminate in hiring.

“Of course, secular groups also attract staff, volunteers and donors who are committed to their missions. In fact, that is precisely the point. The Sierra Club depends on the hard work of committed environmentalists. If they receive government funding for a conservation program, they should not be required to hire staff who may have technical skills but who favor the unfettered exploitation of natural resources.”
